Wanna pitch on season 14?

Peter: Hello. 

Lisa: Welcome to the show.

Peter: Thanks, Lisa. 

Lisa: Tell me what you do at the pitch. 

Peter: I talk to founders and help source deals for the show. 

Lisa: What do you look for in a pitch application? How can someone get on a call with you? 

Peter: For sure. So we actually look at every single application that comes through, and our sweet spot is pre seed and seed stage deals. but we look at everything under the sun from things that are really sexy, like geCKo Materials to things that are on the surface seemingly boring, like Thoras AI, and it's just enterprise SaaS. 

Lisa: After the founders talk to you, they get sent to me and Josh. What makes you want to pass someone to us? 

Peter: I think we really look for storytellers, not just folks who can BS, right? It's not just about weaving a narrative. That storytelling comes from a place of expertise, So if somebody -

Lisa: yeah 

Peter: understands their business Really deeply, they can often craft a pretty compelling story around what they're building. 

Lisa: Do you always pass people to us if they have like a strong mission behind what they're building? 

Peter: I love your leading questions, Lisa. Thank you. 

Lisa: I, yeah, you're welcome. 

Peter: Thanks for teeing me up. Yeah we really look for mission driven founders because this is a long, hard road that builders are gonna be on. So if they're in it purely for economic reasons, it might not be the best fit for us. 

Lisa: What do you like most about talking to hundreds of founders? 

Peter: It's super fun to talk with founders because they're teaching me. They're the experts and I get to get a glimpse of the future and just get a little taste of what they're passionate about. And it's cool to see an optimistic future through their eyes.
